"Babor is a brand that has come from humble origins. What began with a chemist, Dr Michael Babor, exploring his passion for skincare and beauty products by tinkering in his kitchen in Cologne in 1956, has expanded to a modern brand at the forefront of innovative new skincare technologies in 2021.
It was in his kitchen that HY-OIL was first developed. Laying the foundations for a stream of awards that acknowledge its superlative ability to cleanse the skin – without stripping it of natural oils – it was this product that attracted the attention of Dr Leo Vossen, who took the brand to the next level. It was only when the Vossen family moved Babor to Aachen that the brand began to fully flourish into the one that we recognise on the market today.
Decades later, we still see HY-OIL in products such as the cult favourite Doctor Hydro Cellular Hyaluron Cream, which uses the technology to nourish thirsty skin.
